The Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) Scholarships and Fellowships

The Ohio Space Grant Consortium (OSGC) http://www.osgc.org/student.html offers students an opportunity to apply for scholarships and fellowships.  To be considered for these awards, students must be citizens of the United States pursuing a degree in a STEM-related discipline. 

OSGC Scholarships

All scholarship recipients are required to propose and initiate a research project or educational activity under the guidance of a faculty mentor during the academic school year. Recipients must also attend and present the findings of their research/educational activity at the Annual Student Research Symposium, held every April at the Ohio Aerospace Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.  OSGC scholarship students are required to have a research focus involving research with a faculty mentor.

Undergraduate Scholarship award amounts are:

  • Scholarship - $3,500 ($2,500-OSGC/NASA; $1,000 from OSU)

OSGC Fellowships

All fellowship recipients are required to propose and initiate a research project or educational activity under the guidance of a faculty mentor during the academic school year. Recipients must also attend and present the findings of their research/educational activity at the Annual Student Research Symposium, held every April at the Ohio Aerospace Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.

Awards to Master's students are $16,000 ($13,000 from NASA and $3,000 from the university, plus a tuition waiver) for a calendar year. OSGC will provide the funding to the university in the Fall. The fellowship may be extended for an additional six-month period if the student's academic performance is acceptable, good progress has been made on the research project, and upon approval of the Campus Representative. Master’s 1 recipients who are interested in an extension are encouraged to follow up with their Campus Representative about their school’s policy. Master’s fellowship recipients are required to attend the Annual Student Research Symposium at the Ohio Aerospace Institute and make a Power Point presentation on their research project. Note that no indirect charges are allowed by the university for Master’s fellowship awards. All Master’s fellowship awards are contingent on available funding.

Interested students should submit a completed application package that includes the following:

1. Completed Application Form (includes description of proposed research project)
2. Resume
3. Research Program Proposal
4. Publications
5. 2 Letters of Recommendation
6. Transcript(s) of your undergraduate and previous graduate work
